Zechariah 10 — All of God

In this passage, Zechariah talks further about the salvation of Israel.  But the thing that I notice here more than anything else are these words…

It is the Lord who…

The Lord Almighty will…

I (the Lord) will…

In his name…

In other words, all that we have is from God and God alone.

It is from God that we receive the spring rains and food from the earth.  (1)

It is the Lord who will punish those who would lead his people astray, and it is the Lord who will take care of his flock. (3)

It is the Lord who will strengthen, save, and restore us.  It is the Lord who will answer us when we call.  (6)

It is the Lord who will call us, gather us to himself, and redeem us.  (8)

And it is in his name that we will live securely.  (12)

Why does he do all these things for us?  Is it because we’re so deserving of it all?  No, it is all because of his grace.

Everything that we have, everything that we are, it is all of God and all of grace.

Lord thank you for your grace, and all that you have given us.  I thank you that you give me all these things though I don’t deserve it.  Lord help me to rest in your grace.  And help me to take this grace you’ve given me and impart it to the people around me.  In Jesus name amen.
